How to care for my soap?

How to Extend the Life of Your Soap:

All unused soap is best kept in a dry, cool, and dark area to help keep the oils fresh.

For the max amount of uses keep soap in a soap dish to let it dry completely between uses. Soap that is placed in a area that holds a puddle of water will become soft and melt away quickly.

If you are asking if Natural Lotus Farm uses

lye (sodium hydroxide) to make soap?

-Yes, all Natural Lotus Farm Soaps are made with lye.

Any soap made without lye is not soap, it is a detergent.

Our saponification process uses the correct amount of lye for each particular oil.

You can not make soap without lye.

Without lye the soap will be chunky clumps of oil floating in water.

What is Lye?

When making soap, pure sodium hydroxide crystals are added to water. Like salt, lye is made up of sodium. Both are dangerous without the combinations (salt- sodium sodium hydroxide- a chemical that can create holes in fabric, skin, and cause severe reactions with other chemicals.

Sodium Lauroyl Isethionate: Danger:

is a synthetic detergent. Nothing natural in it!

  • Sodium lauroyl isethionate can pose skin irritation depending on the individual’s suseptibility and concentration used.  However, it is considered to be, generally, a milder option.
  • Sodium lauroyl isethionate is created by combining fatty acids with isethionic acid. Isethionic acid is created by combining sodium bisulfite in an aqueous solution and ethylene oxide.  Ethylene oxide is a known carcinogen. Traces of ethylene oxide can remain in the product, along with carcinogenic 1,4-dioxane.

It is in the Canadian environment toxic list…

Sodium Cocoate or sodium palmate: where do we se a formula with an OR????

Sodium cocoate  is from coconut oil…

Sodium palm kernealate is from palm oil…and is a real desaster for environment and present absolutely no benefits for your skin…this oil is used only in cheap soap and cosmetics.

The formula is more than blurred…is it cocoate or palm kernealate…

What else can I say…this is not that good for your skin…

Parfum: Respiratory toxic, immune system toxicity, organ system toxicity, allergen, irritant, environmental toxicity…

The world parfum or fragrance on the ingredients list represents an undisclosed fuzzy mixture of various chemical scents and ingredients used as fragrance dispersants

Sodium Chloride: OK

It is salt used to mask smells…
